The Bakshis are Kashmiri Hindus living in a joint family in the heart of New Delhi. This novel is about their trials and tribulations, and about the many challenges they face.

Ayush Razdan Singh is a Kashmiri Pandit by birth, married into a Rajput family belonging to Jammu. She is an Endodontist (root canal specialist) by profession, and was working as a professor in a Dental College, in India, where she was Head of the Department.
Ayush comes from a family of writers. Her maternal grandfather Pandit Prem Nath Bazaz was a great historian and scholar of Kashmir and took part in the Indian Freedom Struggle. Her parents Omkar Razdan and Vijay Bazaz Razdan have both authored books. Ayush lives in Lucknow with her husband, Anil, and sons Aryamann and Agnivesh. This is her debut novel, her first mind-born.
